Certification Policy

Here's how SK Glow Academy certification works and what it means.
What you receive
Every graduate of an SK Glow Academy class receives an official certificate of completion with your full name, the date of your training, and the signature of Courtney Mortensen, Licensed Cosmetology Instructor and founder of SK Glow.
What certification covers
Successful completion means you've demonstrated competency in:
- Spray tan technique
- Solution and equipment handling
- Client positioning and safety
- Shade guidance
- Blending and contouring
- The business fundamentals needed to begin serving paying clients
Honest scope
SK Glow Academy is a professional skills certification. It's not a state cosmetology license. Spray tan licensing requirements vary by state. Most states don't require a cosmetology license to spray tan, but a few do. It's your responsibility to check your local rules before opening your business, and I'm happy to help you figure out what your state requires.
Lifetime support
Once you're certified, you stay in my network. Refresher questions, technique troubleshooting, and access to the SK Glow community are yours for as long as you want them.
Revocation
I reserve the right to revoke certification if a graduate misrepresents their training, violates client safety standards, or uses the SK Glow name or materials in a way that misleads clients. This is rare but worth saying out loud.
